TRU DIRECTION, INC. is a not-for-profit financial literacy organization founded in 2009 to promote financial wellness. The organization delivers personal financial education and tools through community engagement and its website

Below is a list of some of the programs Tru Direction, Inc. has supported either financially or with personnel participation:


Tru Direction, Inc. has awarded a $500 to $2,500 scholarship per qualified applicant as determined by the Scholarship Committee. Tru Direction, Inc. awards no more than $10,000 per calendar year. (Tru Direction, Inc. will not be awarding scholarships in 2020 -- instead, Tru Direction has expanded its financial sponsorship of financial literacy programs in 2020.)

Banzaian online financial tool in local public schools. Students at several Indiana public schools are getting a free education in how to manage their money. Tru Direction, Inc. is working with Banzai -- a national award-winning financial literacy online website with real-life scenarios available to classes in the following public schools:

Money Smart Week @ Carmel Clay Public Library

Tru Direction, Inc. sponsored Carmel Clay Public Library’s Money Smart Week Identity Theft & Fraud program. Identity theft is one of the nation’s fastest growing crimes and Melissa Miller, an Outreach Specialist with the Office of the Indiana Attorney General was the featured speaker.

Indianapolis Lemonade Day -- Tru Direction is an Indiana Lemonade Day sponsor -- supporting the entrepreneurship spirit in our youngsters. Our sponsorship supports the Entrepreneur of the Year Award in Indianapolis (2017 & 2018).

Elkhart Lemonade Day -- A 2019 sponsorship.

401.k Race for Financial Literacy -- "Empower all kids to start smart & finish strong." Tru Direction provided bright safety orange string back-packs for all the race participants.

Indiana Military Veterans Hall of Fame -- Tru Direction, Inc. is proud to be one of the First 100 donors supporting the Indiana Military Veterans Hall of Fame whose stated objective is "to publically emphasize the honor brought to our state and nation by the sacrifice of Indiana military veterans and their families." In support of this donation, Tru Direction will include financial literacy information on its website that may be useful to veterans and their families in making their financial decisions. And veteran's financial stories will be highlighted with links that may also benefit their fellow veterans.

Business & Community Fairs

  • Down Syndrome Indiana – Tru Direction, Inc. participated in their financial wellness fair.

  • OneZone – Annual Hamilton County’s Taste of Chambers – Exhibited in one of the largest business events OneZone (Carmel & Fishers) Chamber offers and a great way to showcase Tru Direction, Inc. information & connect with businesses and potential clients. (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019)

Tru Direction, Inc. provides financial literacy information in a classroom or organizational setting – subjects can include scams & identity theft, credit report & score information, budgeting and other related financial topics.
